Challenge
During the COVID-19 pandemic, US healthcare facilities needed structured visitor screening. Staff had to be able to check room limits and to record decisions traceably.
Solution
One configurable visit workflow
SoftTeco developed web, iOS and Android applications. Staff search for patients, check active visits and room limits and work through configurable health questionnaires. The workflow supports approving or declining a visit.
Integrating existing identities
SAML and LDAP connect the solution to the facility’s identity management. For approved visits, the time and the responsible staff member are documented.
Visit screening with two possible outcomes
Select patient: Name / floor → Check room limit: Active visits; Check room limit: Active visits → Questionnaire: Facility rules; Questionnaire: Facility rules → Decision: Review visit; Decision: Review visit → Approval & log: Time / staff; Decision: Review visit → Decline visit: Rules not met.

Results
The solution brings visitor screening and visit history together in one customizable workflow. Questionnaires and facility settings can be configured. A measured reduction in infections is not evidenced.
