Challenge

The client leases wireless connectivity and resells it to individuals and businesses, including for simulating load scenarios such as high call volumes. For managing postpaid lines, he already used a Retool-based application and wanted a comparable solution for his prepaid business. A key requirement was that the new application combine a general overview of all lines with a grouped view for main lines and their associated sublines.

Solution

SoftTeco built a dedicated management application for prepaid wireless lines for a US carrier and stabilized the underlying database infrastructure.

SoftTeco built Simcall from the ground up on Retool and a PostgreSQL database, providing both a general overview of all prepaid lines and a grouped view of main lines with their sublines. The frontend was later decoupled from Retool and rebuilt as an independent application using Vite, React and Tailwind, with new views added to match the required business logic. On the backend, SoftTeco first stabilized the existing production database and identified several potential transaction lockers. The team then created database migrations for new objects, set up a separate staging environment to test these migrations safely, and added an Excel adapter that converts Google Sheets tables into database entries.
