Challenge
Roughly one in ten people in Sweden lacks access to digital payment methods, with elderly residents and people with disabilities particularly affected. Care staff and guardians typically have no legal authority to handle the money of the people they support, which has often meant relying on cash or personal advance payments — a practice that creates risks around traceability and security.

Care workers and residents interact through the Delori Payments app: delegated payment authority flows one way, traceable purchases the other.
Digitally delegated payment authority
The Delori Payments app allows care staff to make purchases on behalf of residents, with the authority to do so delegated digitally and in a traceable way. The solution automates the related administrative steps and was built in part with data-flow expertise from Sigma Technology Insight Solutions, with additional backing from Sweden’s Post and Telecom Authority, the Västra Götaland region and the funding body Almi.

Results
